About BillAnswers
BillAnswers explains Texas electricity bills and plans in plain English and Spanish, using the Public Utility Commission of Texas rules and official data as sources.
How we check facts
Every rule we describe links to the official text it comes from, usually the Public Utility Commission of Texas customer protection rules (16 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 25). Prices and averages come from public data, such as the U.S. Energy Information Administration, with the month the data covers. Each page shows the date it was last updated.
What we do not do
We do not sell electricity, and we do not recommend a provider for pay. See how we get paid.
